Ireland’s HotPress Magazine has described Sadhbh as an artist who is already established as one of Ireland’s most promising songwriters. She is a songwriter with a unique and fresh perspective. Blessed with a talented band and amazing producers, Anam presents her stories through an original sound and vocals that have depth, power, vulnerability and clarity.
Sadhbh’s debut EP in 2023 earned her the Tony Clayton Lea (IT) One to Watch tag in 2024. Life gets complicated and each twist, peak, trough, heartbreak and milestone since then opened more experiences and perspectives. Anam’s 7 tracks offer something different. An outstanding collection of songs and stories that Sadhbh has generously laid bare and wrapped into an eclectic variety of melodies and tempos. Effortlessly, Sadhbh flows from cryptic metaphors to unswervingly honest vulnerability.

Sadhbh’s band Na Réalta recorded this EP in studio; Oisín, Jay and Claudia have immense talent, musicianship and beautiful personalities; all of which have contributed hugely to this EP.

EP Tracks
A Chuisle, A Chroí
A Chuisle, A Chroí explores the final throes of an intense relationship with an unflinching emotional honesty. The title, meaning “my pulse, my heart”, is lifted from the song’s poignant chorus line: “A chuisle, a chroí, mo ghrá, a mhuirnín” — a poetic expression of deep affection in the Irish language. “It’s about that silent moment across a room — when love is gone but the feeling still pulses.”
Hate Me Now
Poetically charged and unsparingly honest, the song explores the turbulent aftermath of a broken relationship. Sadhbh’s lyrics detail the painful asymmetry of love and control (‘You never let me talk too much ‘bout how your problems effected the both of us’), transforming personal ruin into a universal anthem of reclamation (‘I was just a lost soul but I never came back running, that’s why you hate me now’)

All Out of Time
With beautiful piano accompaniment, in All Out of Time, Sadhbh dives into the tough, agonising reality of a struggling relationship; portraying the relatable dilemma of loving someone so intensely that self-preservation takes a back seat. Her ability to articulate this unique flavour of self-sabotage turns that personal struggle into a relatable emotional experience that haunts and moves the listener.
Signals
In Signals, Sadhbh’s songwriting again excels through her uniquely human perspective. Telling the story of addiction as a relationship; the song surfaces the destructive and compulsive nature of the relationship by writing in the first person to the drug. While rooted in addiction, the overarching metaphor connects with anyone who has ever bargained with a bad habit, traded with a destructive partner, or felt stranded in a cycle they can’t seem to escape. The track is acoustically led with a surround sound and melody of deep sonic texture.
Take The Hits
In Take The Hits Sadhbh lands a masterclass in confessional songwriting. With unsparing vulnerability, she explores the exhausting weight of anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and childhood guilt. Sadhbh presents the isolating reality of avoidant attachment and self-sabotage, without a flinch she shares her profound internal battles. The track’s raw beauty lies in its unvarnished honesty, offering a deeply relatable anthem for anyone who has ever struggled to sit comfortably in their own skin.Birthday Song
Written on Sadhbh’s 17th birthday, days before a pivotal New York tour, Birthday Song captures her anxiety of turning seventeen. Sadhbh brilliantly juxtaposes this coming-of-age milestone against industry pressures, shifting friendships, and battles for bodily autonomy. Her songwriting genius shines in articulating the chaotic transition between adolescence and a future she sees as daunting in that moment. It is a raw, urgent snapshot of youth, proving her ability to distil overwhelming life transitions into poignant, beautiful storytelling.
