Following her most recent single release, Irish singer-songwriter Niamh Bury releases a sublime new track, ‘Everything is Moving’, available now via Claddagh Records.
Describing the song, Niamh said:
[Everything is Moving] is a song about the natural hidden forces that are bigger than us and ultimately dictate our lives. It’s about surrendering to the power of the tides, cycles, and seasons and finding comfort in the knowledge that we’re never really in control.
A unique Irish artist whose rich songwriting is anchored by superb musicianship, Niamh Bury has been noted as one of the most captivating new talents on the contemporary folk music scene. Bury occupies a distinct position within the contemporary Irish folk revival, acting as both a bridge between traditional singing heritage and a pioneer of modern, indie-leaning folk storytelling. Her musical style combines natural, unforced vocals and acoustic guitar with lush, classical and jazz-influenced arrangements while her voice is one of remarkable beauty and intimacy.
Signed to the iconic Claddagh Records – as one of the first new artists signed to the revitalised label in nearly two decades – Bury’s richly textured songs weave together traditional influences with contemporary songwriting, exploring themes of mythology, memory, nature, and belonging.
Her talent has earned her consecutive nominations for Best Emerging Artist at the RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Awards. Over the course of her rising career, she has shared stages with acclaimed acts including Dermot Kennedy, Ye Vagabonds, Flyte, and Maddison Cunningham.
Yellow Roses, the debut album released in March 2024 and produced by Brían Mac Gloinn of Ye Vagabonds, received widespread acclaim both at home and overseas. The Irish Times and Irish Examiner cited Bury as “One to Watch” that year, while RTE championed the album in its Top10 Irish Albums of the Year (#6). Across the water, MOJO Magazine voted Yellow Roses into its Top5 Folk Albums of 2024 at #3, cementing her reputation as a remarkable emerging artist.
