Linda Perry has released her first solo album in 25+ years, Let It Die Here, out now via Kill Rock Stars/670 Records. The 17-track record is an intimate collection of songs that emerged during the filming of her deeply personal documentary, also titled Let It Die Here

A raw, spiritual reckoning, the album traces a journey through inherited pain, grief, and redemption—from the late-night confessions of ‘Balboa Park’ to the searing surrender of ‘Let It Die Here,’ culminating in ‘Albatross,’ a moment of hard-won release. Early critical response is strong, including a 4-star review from MOJO praising how “Perry’s keen pop sensibility shot through,SPIN Magazine stating “Perry alchemically turns psychic chaos into spun gold,” alongside acclaim from Classic Rock Magazine calling the album “a supremely classy and highly polished affair. Immaculately crafted, played and produced,” all signaling major recognition ahead of release. To accompany the album release, Perry is debuting a music video for the focus track ‘Feathers In A Storm.’ Stream the album Let It Die Here HERE and watch the ‘Feathers In A Storm’ music video HERE.

Linda Perry reflected on the release of Let It Die Here – “I never intended to make a documentary, and I never intended to record an album—but here I am with an incredibly raw documentary and an extremely honest record. This album represents the years I struggled as a child, with a very tough mother who always made me feel like I had to be constantly looking over my shoulder, never feeling the comfort of safety. In songs like ‘Is That All You Got?’ you hear me take her on, and in ‘What Lies With You,’ you hear me struggling to say goodbye. Let It Die Here is a cinematic and emotional story about survival. I don’t know how this will touch others, but it has certainly helped set me free.”

On the inspiration behind the single and music video for ‘Feathers In Storm,’ Linda Perry said – “I spent years trying to change my mom—wanting her approval and wanting her to be accountable for the damage she caused. I finally realized that would never happen. ‘Feathers in a Storm’ is about looking inward for that change. And yeah, it sucks when your parents don’t want to take responsibility for their actions. At the end of the day, we’re just feathers in a storm looking for a way out. I wanted the video for ‘Feathers in a Storm’ to be fun, visually dynamic, and just cool. All the outfit changes represent the changes I’m singing about. Simon Chan directed and put all the visuals together—he’s fast, creative, and we just get each other. Style Alchemist styled all my clothes in the video; they are great with textures, colors and really elevated my look. I love what they do. Shea Hardy did my makeup, and I’m not easy because I don’t like wearing it—but she’s the only one I trust with that task. I let everyone do what they do best, gave them full creative freedom, and they delivered—I love this video.”

For the first single off of Let It Die Here, Perry revisited her iconic song ‘Beautiful,’ delivering a raw, intimate performance that reframes the anthem through her own lived experience. To accompany ‘Beautiful,’ Linda tapped actor/producer/director Sara Gilbert who created a visually stunning short film/music video based around a talent show with a 1940’s influence but also feels timeless. The video stars their child Rhodes Perry, actor Lukas Haas, Shane Powers (Babylon, Survivor) as well as a cast of a close circle of friends, family, actors and musicians. Linda Perry made her solo late night television debut performing ‘Beautiful’ on Jimmy Kimmel Live! earlier this year.
