London-based indie-pop artist flowerovlove has announced a headline show at Dublin’s Academy Green Room on 6 February 2027. The highly anticipated date will see the rising artist bring her dreamy, genre-blurring sound to the Irish capital, with tickets going on sale this Friday at 10am.

If you catch flowerovlove staring out a window, just know she’s right where she wants to be: ruminating.
The 21-year-old star is pop’s rising “thought daughter,” a reflective dreamer who romanticizes all aspects of her life, right down to the clothes she wears. That includes her mini skirts, a simple item of clothing that is loaded with so much more meaning for her.
“I feel so empowered when I have some skin out,” she says. She can’t help but wax poetic about everything, but that particular selection in her closet helps her slip into a more confident version of herself who can face anything life throws at her.
That’s why flowerovlove always knew she wanted her debut full-length album to be called Mini Skirt Warrior (out TK, via Capitol). The album is for the other thought daughters, the girls who can’t stop staring out of a car or bedroom window as their favorite music plays through wired headphones into their ears. They may be thinking about their crush, but it doesn’t take long to realize that they’re still a bad bitch who deserves the world. This album is their new soundtrack with its crying at the sleepover anthems, sharp humor, girl power and much-needed affirmations.
Though the album came to life last summer, Mini Skirt Warrior very much embodies the last four years of the London-born singer’s life, capturing a period of emergent adulthood as she left her teenage years behind and entered her twenties.
“A lot of this album is based on first times,” she explains. “First times falling in love, first times getting to know yourself, first times falling out of love, first times realizing girlhood is so important.”
That period has been marked by flowerovlove’s own rapid rise as one of pop music’s most exciting new voices. She started releasing music independently in 2021 before landing at Capitol. She released the buzzy EP Ache in My Tooth in 2024 as well as several bright pop bangers as standalone singles, like last year’s “I’ve seen ur ex” and “new friends.” Her songs have caught the attention of quite a few famous fans: Olivia Rodrigo, SZA, Rosalia, Haim, Niall Horan, Halsey, Khalid, Role Model. The most surprising for her was Elton John, who called the rising star personally to sing her praises.
“I didn’t realize I was a perfectionist until making this album because making an album is such a big deal,” she says of the process leading to Mini Skirt Warrior. She is the primary creative force behind her career, creative directing, producing and set designing to make sure her singular vision comes across in the most authentic way possible. Balancing out the precision was an effortless period of inspiration. She didn’t go into her writing sessions last year with any expectations until the feeling that something special was brewing finally hit her.
“When you write without intention it’s so special,” she explains. “It really comes from the heart instead of trying to force a message because then you get lost in it and that’s something that I went through for quite a bit of time.”
Bringing the album to life along with her was a standout team of pop’s top songwriters and producers. Her main collaborators were Skyler Stonestreet (Justin Bieber, Dua Lipa) and Pom Pom (Suki Waterhouse, John Legend). She also teamed up with the likes of Amy Allen (Olivia Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter), Steph Jones (Selena Gomez, BLACKPINK), Steve Mac (One Direction, Ed Sheeran) and her brother Wilfred Cissé.
For flowerovlove, many of the songs sound like exactly what she would have loved when she was younger. “I wrote a lot of this music for me and my friends because we would go through the same things for the first time,” she says. “If we heard this music, we would be like, ‘Oh my God, I feel so connected to it.’ Even if I didn’t write it, I would still love this album.”
Lead single “In My Victoria’s Secret” sets the stage and follows the tone of flowerovlove’s earlier music: sweet, fun and irresistibly catchy. The singer compares the séund to Avril Lavigne and says it’s “very expressive of a situationship.”
“I went into Victoria’s Secret for the first time and got myself a little dress,” she recalls. While in the store, she wondered how many girls have cried in there or even just at home in the new lingerie they bought. “It’s a song about crying in your underwear after a hook-up when you feel unwanted by someone and you have the cutest Victoria’s Secret on.”
Flowerovlove previewed the album earlier this year with the release of “American Wedding,” one of the most straightforward love songs on the album. Heavily inspired by both Taylor Swift and Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter, she infused more acoustic guitar into her sound than ever before. With “American Wedding,” the result is a clear country-tinged pop moment that reminds people why she chose her stage name in the first place: “I was in the mood to write a girly, sparkly love song.”
“Girls Will Be Girls” is one of the most vulnerable songs flowerovlove has ever written, a raw and nerve-wracking milestone for the young artist. In the vein of “firsts” that inspired these songs, she had experienced a relationship and ensuing heartbreak that not only shaped her but also led her to remember how important female friendships are in her life.
“There’s so much more to life than this one heartbreak in this one situation,” she explains. “I just want to be a girl.”
Joining her on the song is WILLOW, a “dream feature” for the young star. “It was actually her idea, and I’m still in awe every time I hear her on the record,” flowerovlove reveals. “She’s one of the artists who inspired me to start creating music in the first place.”
