As festival season ends, Marsy welcomes in the autumn with Miss Wave, an EP of five new tracks; it follows the band’s debut Magic EP which was released back in the spring.
The track listing of the EP is as follows:
Miss Wave
You Can You Can’t
Restless
My Old Guy
All My Love
Released on Heavenly Recordings on 20th November and ‘Miss Wave’, ‘You Can You Cant ‘and ‘Restless’ were recorded in Margate with Mike Lindsay (Tunng, LUMP) on production. Lindsay also produced the band’s previous Magic EP. ‘My Old Guy’ was recorded at Blackbox studio in France and ‘All My Love’ is a bedroom demo.
The EP is one part bucolic folk, one part Wire-esque angular rock n roll and five parts magic. From the title track’s hypnotic metronomic drone to ‘My Old Guy’s’ haunted dancehall soundtrack via ‘All My Love’s’ beautiful harmonic overdrive, this is the sound of a young band finding confidence and cohesion in their own weird selves and letting it guide them onwards and upwards. Wrap up warm, play loud and prepare to fall in love.
Marsy have today shared ‘Miss Wave’, the first track to be taken from the EP. Talking about the track, Hannah Rodgers, Marsy’s lead vocalist and songwriter said:
Miss Wave was written at a time when I was really struggling to deal with massive feelings that were essentially drowning me. It was like a mantra back when I was finding it harder to manage life and needed a reminder not to give in and act out on impulse. I think that night I wrote it, a few glasses of wine in, somewhere in my subconscious ‘It Be’s That Way Sometimes’ by Nina Simone was probably playing in my head.

Off the back of their Heavenly debut Magic EP the band have played live at the The Great Escape Festival, against the majestic backdrop of the Black Mountains on Greenman Festival’s Rising Stage as well as shows at Dot to Dot Festival, SWN festival and Amsterdam’s London Calling and are set to play a couple of shows this month. The dates are as follows:
23.10.26 – Mutations Festival – BRIGHTON
24.10.26 – Brudenell ‘In Colour’ event – LEEDS
29.10.26 – St Pancras Old Church – LONDON (stripped back Absolute Lilt support)
Songwriting has been a major part of Hannah’s life since her teenage years. Some of her earliest memories are of harmonising with her mum and dad in the kitchen, singing along to Dolly Parton or Robert Plant. Having been raised alongside her brother Luke, surrounded by songs and the unpicking of them by their father, listening deeply and hunting for the meaning became an easy way to understand how we relate to each other, or don’t.
For Hannah, a song often comes as a moment of clarity in a world of chaos, a purging of feelings that are hard to describe day to day. “I find it hard to imagine getting on with life without this creative process, I might combust.”
As someone who has always felt slightly on the outside of the bubble, Hannah idealised the concept of a band but never felt good enough to actually start one.
It took many iterations to find the right fit. Eventually though, Hannah found Ruby through watching friends in Goat Girl play live, and after sharing some bedroom demos, Ruby joined Hannah, in their band without a name. Luke, Hannah’s brother (prev. live in Pixx) also became a permanent piece of the puzzle. Lucy (aka Luce Rushton), who had played with Hannah many years before, joined in 2025 and instantly brought a beautifully unique bass playing style to the band. Lastly, Sean, who alongside Luke, played live in Pixx back in 2017 joined and with him came a sense of fruition.
Sometimes in life, it takes longer than one might have hoped to get somewhere, but here is where it feels right for Marsy.
Collectively Marsy have road-tested Hannah’s songs across London’s grassroots music venues. Starting 2026 as one of The Line of Best Fits hotly tipped acts and supporting Iona Zajec, Alice Costello and Saint Etienne along the way.
