PEBBLEDASH Unveil Stripped-Back Acoustic Take on ‘Tiles and Moss’

Just Dropped a Special Live Recording Of
‘TILES AND MOSS’

Cork-based band Pebbledash have just released a live acoustic version of their track ‘Tiles And Moss’ which was recorded in the stunning backdrop of St. Luke’s Church in Cork, Ireland. Recorded, mixed, and mastered by Enda Boyle. Videography by Daniel Hurley.
Recorded live atop the altar of a deconsecrated church overlooking Cork City, Tiles and Moss (Live at St. Luke’s) sees Pebbledash reimagine one of their most energetic tracks into a more hypnotic, drone-laden form tinged with acoustic guitar and harmonium, drawing further attention to the band’s signature harmonies and to the song’s allusive, turbulent lyrics.
This track is the first of a series of special acoustic live tracks that will be dropping this month, including the inclusion of their tracks ‘Killer Lover’ and ‘Cell’ in the upcoming BLAB003 cassette release (Pre-order).
Speaking on the track Cormac Donovan O’Neill (harmonium / backing vocals) says, “St. Luke’s is such an absolutely singular venue that we’re incredibly fortunate to have in Cork City, and is a place in which we’ve long been dreaming of doing our first substantial live recording. The setting and the atmosphere of a deconsecrated cathedral truly put us in mind of the emotions and imagery that run through so much of our songwriting as we were playing the set in the round on the altar. Tiles and Moss is one of three tracks we chose to reimagine in an acoustic form for this live recording. We don’t often get to play acoustic, but whenever we have, we’ve found it reveals the songs to audiences and to ourselves in a whole new light; it’s a joy to be able to share that side of us to a wider audience who mightn’t have had the chance to see us play like that. Tiles and Moss was a favourite, particularly Fionnbharr’s rendition of Sí Bheag, Sí Mhór at the beginning, pared back to its O’Carolan roots in an acoustic form accompanied by the drone of my harmonium.”
