Song Bio

Romanticise is the first single from Orla Monelle’s upcoming Debut EP. Co-written by Orla with James Geraghty and produced by Alex O’Keeffe (LYRA, Brad Heidi, Isaac Butler, Melina Malone).

The track celebrates independence and the joy of making the most of your own company. Rather than waiting for someone else to create special moments, it’s about taking the initiative to give yourself those experiences and memories. Romanticise is a reminder that you are worthy of incredible experiences, and that sometimes, doing things alone can be the most empowering way forward.

“I was feeling lonely at the time of writing this song. I started reflecting on a time when I was alone but not lonely. In summer 2022 I spent a month in London, exploring the city, going to gigs by myself and putting myself out there to meet new people. I felt such freedom and confidence in anonymity. I wanted to write Romanticise to remind myself of that feeling of empowerment and find a way to get back to it.” – Orla Monelle
