Transatlantic indie favourites Prima Queen have announced their first-ever Irish headline tour, set to take place this February 2026, following the release of their highly anticipated debut album The Prize.
The Irish dates arrive during a landmark period for the band, who released The Prize on 25 April 2025 via Submarine Cat Records. The album announcement was accompanied by the release of the powerful new single Ugly (out now), and follows a rapid ascent that has seen the duo earn critical acclaim across the UK, Europe, and the US.
Praised as “transatlantic indie stars” by The Guardian, and described by NME as possessing “an ethereal sound that shimmers with delicate vocal interplay and glacial instrumentation”, Prima Queen are fast cementing their reputation as one of indie music’s most compelling new voices. Written by Louise MacPhail and Kristin McFadden, The Prize is a bold and emotionally resonant record that celebrates friendship, growth, and empowerment. Drawing inspiration from the shimmering pop sensibilities of HAIM and Jenny Lewis, and shaped by extensive touring with artists including Olivia Dean, Wet Leg, and Whitney, the album channels the euphoric energy of their celebrated live performances
Produced by Steph Marziano (Hayley Williams, Picture Parlour, Nell Mescal), latest single Ugly explores the collapse of a festival romance when confronted with real-world imbalance and disappointment, a raw and relatable moment that captures the band’s defining honesty.
The announcement of Irish tour dates follows a run of major career highlights, including support slots with Everything Everything on their December UK tour, and a prestigious appearance alongside The Maccabees at London’s All Points East.
Having already lit up stages at Glastonbury Festival, SXSW, and Pitchfork Paris, and with all five previous singles playlisted on BBC 6 Music, Prima Queen now bring their acclaimed live show to Ireland for the first time.
