Mimi Webb Sharing Confessions

Mimi Webb brought her Confessions tour to Dublin’s 3Olympia Theatre last night, turning the historic venue into a pulsing confessional booth of heartbreak, empowerment, and pure pop.

Fresh from releasing her second album Confessions, Webb has called it her most personal and vulnerable work to date — a reflection of heartbreak, healing, and hard-won self-assurance. With that in mind, I was curious to see how those intimate confessions would unfold in a live setting, and whether the raw emotion behind the record would resonate beyond the studio.

As the lights came up, Mimi Webb stood poised and powerful atop a podium at centre stage — a striking silhouette against the wash of blue and crimson hues. She opened with the sultry, teasing words of “Kiss My Neck,” a slow-burn introduction that quickly erupted into a pulsing pop anthem. The transformation was electric. The crowd, already primed, needed no prompting as the quickly joined in.

She wasted no time keeping the energy high, launching straight into “Love Language” and “Ghost of You.” The latter saw Webb step down from the safety of her podium, her movements measured and deliberate as she slow marched toward the edge of the stage, locking eyes with the crowd like she was daring them to feel every lyric. Then, with a sudden burst of freedom, she broke into a slick, full-bodied dance routine that stretched across every inch of the stage — which felt like she truly was enjoying the moment.

The night unfolded with Webb showcasing much of the Confessions album, including standout performances of “Narcissist,” “Mistake,” “Confessions,” and “I Love You for Me.” Each track revealed a different shade of her artistry — from razor-sharp pop precision to moments of raw vulnerability. Between songs, she invited fans to share their own “confessions,” a clever and charming nod to the tour’s theme that turned the gig into something more intimate and communal.

As Webb closed the night with “Mind Reader,” I found myself reflecting on the performance as a whole. It was a strong, engaging show that reaffirmed her growing stature as a pop artist, yet there was still the sense that Mimi Webb has even greater heights ahead. Having listened Confessions album, I can say that hearing these songs live brought them to life in a completely new way — her energy, charisma, and emotional transparency transforming studio tracks into something far more personal and immediate.

Opening The Night

Opening the night was London-based singer Grace Gachot, whose soulful vocals and confident stage presence made for an impressive warm-up ahead of Mimi set. Blending smooth pop melodies with heartfelt emotion, Gachot proved a fitting addition to the bill — her sound perfectly complementing the tone of the evening while offering the crowd an engaging glimpse of a rising artist finding her own voice.

Standout moments from Gachot’s set included “Fuckboy Tragedy,” “Beautiful Built to Be Bad,” and her latest single “Flatlining,” each showcasing a different side of her artistry. “Flatlining” in particular stood out, its intimate lyrics and haunting melody revealing a deeply personal layer that resonated strongly in the live setting.

Definitely and artist to keep an eye on.
