Marie-Thérèse releases Prince Cover “Strange Relationship”

After her very well received Luna and Saint Mary releases, Dublin artist Marie-Thérèse dropped a smasher last week with a cover version of Prince’s “Strange Relationship”.
Doing a cover version for an artist is always going to be a hit and miss scenario, you will inevitably have some music aficionado, recanting those immortal words “it’s not as good as the original.”
So, taking on a cover version of pop music royalty was always going to be an ask, thankfully Marie-Thérèse not only did it justice but also gave it a fresh new sound.
Taking the original funk vibe and turning it into a clubland gem, with a popping backing track overlayed with Marie-Thérèse’s hypnotic vocals which creatively sound like they are fed through an intercom.
