Alt-pop duo IDER launched their bold next chapter last month with new single ‘F**k Without Feelings’ and today they announce the release of their fourth album ‘Looking Gorgeous, Expecting Everything’ on 2nd April via Nettwerk, alongside sharing a further glimpse into their new music with dynamic new track ‘Horny, Grieving’. Following recent support shows with Sabrina Carpenter and Melanie Martinez, they have also announced a headline 2027 UK and European tour, including their biggest London show to date at London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town.
IDER – best friends Megan Markwick and Lily Somerville – have built a dedicated following for their leftfield alternative pop. With a gritty yet tender sound that is as raw and gentle as it is fiercely energetic, their gorgeous vocal harmonies are coupled with frank and cinematic storytelling. The duo have never shied away from exploring their own situations and feelings, with their 2025 album ‘Late to the World’ examining the self-discovery that comes with ageing and the acceptance of living life at your own pace.

Returning to the studio this year with Dann Hume (Laura Mvula, Balu Brigada, Genesis Owusu), they began to explore a central theme of reckoning with love, the feeling of post-breakup and being single again in your 30s. Forthcoming album ‘Looking Gorgeous, Expecting Everything’ is their most direct body of work yet, born through lived experience and learning to have the confidence to show up as you are. A raw yet joyful body of work, it is a record that is both earnest and self-aware, sincere without being too serious, and above all, captures IDER exactly as they’re meant to be. The album’s title is a made-up mantra the duo have often quoted to one another about expecting everything even when experience tells you otherwise. It’s a sentiment they connect to a favourite Nick Cave quote, “hope is optimism with a broken heart”.
New single ‘Horny, Grieving’ is a harmonized collision of vulnerability and desire and is a track that is both desperate and self-aware, thematically examining the emotions of being newly single with a thoughtful yet uplifting energy and a powerful, buoyant chorus. They say,
“Born from a break-up, the track captures the contradictory emotions of being newly single – the freedom and desire that comes with being able to do whatever the hell you want, alongside the inevitable grief and loss. Desperate and self-aware, it captures the unique liminal space of post-breakup life, where you can be both horny and bereft.”
Alongside their own sell-out headline tour and London residency at Stoke Newington’s Old Church last year, IDER supported Sabrina Carpenter at Hyde Park and have recently supported Melanie Martinez at London’s The O2 and Manchester’s Co-Op Live. They have announced a headline tour across the UK and Europe next year, commencing in Paris on 11th April and culminating with their biggest London show to date at O2 Forum Kentish Town on 28th April.
