Dublin’s Gurriers release their highly anticipated second album, Nobody’s Coming To Save You, via Play It Again Sam, today, 25 September 2026 (Stream/buy HERE). Alongside the release of the album, the band share the focus track and an accompanying video, “Waiting For Fisher” (listen/watch HERE).
Gurriers are also featured on The Cover of NME this week (read here).An anthemic, emotionally charged take on the absurdity of capitalism and the frustrations of the working-day drudge, “Waiting For Fisher” nods to Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot and anti-capitalist writer Mark Fisher, bringing the personal and political together with Gurriers’ trademark urgency. Anchored by loud, distorted guitar riffs and a blistering, grungy hook, “Waiting For Fisher” is a fast-paced, high-voltage electric offering that charges through a wall of raw fuzz and driving rhythms for a relentless burst of pure adrenaline. The accompanying video was again directed by Thomas James (Kneecap, Bring Me The Horizon, Young Fathers), who said the following: “Me and the lads bonded over Mark Fisher quite early on – so it felt appropriate to be putting this madness together for them. For me, the video is a visceral, surreal, grenade of a satire – observing what the confines of competition can drive us to, in a system which tells us to always try to reach the top of the pile – treading on as many heads as we’re told to along the way.”
The focus track arrives alongside the full release of Gurriers’ second studio album, Nobody’s Coming To Save You, out today. Recorded between Donegal’s Attica Studios and Holy Mountain Studios in London, Nobody’s Coming To Save You was produced by Mark Bowen (Idles) and Loren Humphrey (Geese, Cameron Winter), alongside engineer Chris Fullard (Idles, Sunn O)))) and mixed by John Congleton (St. Vincent, Modest Mouse, Swans). The album captures Gurriers scaling up every element that made their debut so compelling – sharper dynamics, towering production and an even more urgent worldview.
Formed during the pandemic, Gurriers quickly built a reputation for bone-rattling, mosh-ready live shows and sharp, socially conscious songwriting. Since their debut’s release, the milestones have continued to stack up: a standout appearance on Later… with Jools Holland, main stage performances across Glastonbury’s Woodsies and Leftfield stages, and arena support slots with Turnstile and Kneecap.
On Nobody’s Coming To Save You, Gurriers channel the spirit of protest, resistance and personal reflection into some of their most ambitious material to date. This is Gurriers taking all the musical chemistry and smart, interrogational worldview that made them great in the first place, and souping it up to the next level. From the rattling tension of the title track’s opening moments, to slow-burning intensity and dance-punk hedonism, giving way to a cacophonous, cathartic climax, Nobody’s Coming To Save Youtakes this spirit of the sweaty basement venue and turns it stadium-sized. It’s not just loud, but dynamic.
The release of Nobody’s Coming To Save You and “Waiting For Fisher” marks another bolds step in the band’s rapid rise, and follows the single release of “Nobody’s Coming To Save You’, “Party Lines”, “Nothing Happens Twice” and “Pins” which received support from BBC 6 Music, KEXP, NME, Wonderland, Rolling Stone and more.
