The former Beautiful South and Housemartins frontman Paul Heaton will headline The O2 Belfast and 3Arena Dublin next June, with Rianne Downey and Lightning Seeds joining the bill

English singer-songwriter Paul Heaton is heading back to Ireland next summer, announcing two major headline shows for June 2027.

The acclaimed songwriter will bring his celebrated catalogue to The O2 Belfast on Friday, June 4th 2027, before heading south for a huge show at 3Arena, Dublin on Saturday, June 5th 2027.

Best known as the frontman and principal songwriter of The Housemartins and The Beautiful South, Heaton has spent more than four decades producing some of British pop’s most enduring songs. From The Housemartins’ era-defining ‘Happy Hour’ and ‘Caravan Of Love’ to The Beautiful South’s ‘Perfect 10’, ‘A Little Time’ and ‘Don’t Marry Her’, his knack for combining sharp observations with instantly memorable melodies has made him one of the UK’s most distinctive songwriters.

His solo work has continued that tradition, retaining the wit, warmth and emotional punch that have defined his career while introducing his songs to a new generation.

Joining Heaton is Rianne Downey, one of the most exciting young voices to emerge from the UK’s singer-songwriter scene. With her distinctive vocal style and knack for pairing classic songwriting instincts with a contemporary edge, Downey has quickly established herself as an artist to watch.

Adding another dose of indie nostalgia to the bill, Lightning Seeds will bring their own catalogue of beloved anthems to both Irish dates. Led by Ian Broudie, the band remain synonymous with some of the defining sounds of ’90s British indie, including ‘The Life Of Riley’, ‘Lucky You’ and the football anthem ‘Three Lions’.

With three generations of songwriting talent coming together, Heaton’s 2027 Irish return looks set to be one of next summer’s essential nights for fans of British indie, pop and alternative music.

Paul Heaton plays The O2 Belfast on Friday, June 4th 2027, followed by 3Arena, Dublin on Saturday, June 5th 2027, with Rianne Downey and Lightning Seeds as special guests.
