Irish indie-rock rising stars RuntheRed will headline Upstairs at Whelan’s, Dublin on Saturday, 3 October 2026.
RuntheRed are continuing their rapid rise through Ireland’s independent music scene with the announcement of a headline show at one of Dublin’s most iconic live venues, Whelan’s.
Formed in 2024, the Irish indie-alternative four-piece have quickly established themselves as one of the country’s emerging live acts, combining atmospheric guitars, intimate storytelling and a raw, emotionally charged energy. Their songs explore love, loss and the uncertainty of growing up, while their live performances have increasingly marked them out as a band with plenty more to come.
That momentum has been building throughout 2026. RuntheRed were recently selected as one of RTÉ’s 10 Rising Acts for 2026, while their track ‘Indigo’ was chosen as RTÉ Track of the Week – another significant milestone for a band still in the early stages of their journey.
Their growing reputation was also on full display at Beyond The Pale and Forest Fest, where RuntheRed delivered a performances that underlined exactly why they are being tipped as one of the exciting names emerging from Ireland’s current indie scene. With their mix of vulnerability, melodic hooks and live intensity, the band demonstrated that they are more than capable of commanding a festival stage.
The Whelan’s headline date represents another important step forward for RuntheRed, giving fans the chance to catch the band in the intimate Upstairs room as they continue to build momentum around the country.
With Ireland currently producing a new generation of ambitious indie and alternative acts, RuntheRed are steadily carving out their own space – and this Dublin headline show could prove to be another key moment in their rise.
