is rising in the west as Galway’s newest festival finalises its line-up for the inaugural four-day event in Oranmore this May Bank Holiday Weekend.
In addition to the stellar headliners performing across the long weekend, Momentum further affirms its commitment to championing emerging Irish talent with the addition of a further two on-the-rise Irish acts for Monday’s Momentum – Galway alt-rock four piece Talllon and indie-folk band Groev, both Galway-based, will support The Scratch, Cliffords and Madra Salach.
The additional support acts announced today join previously-revealed special guests The Riptide Movement and Tracy Bruen (supporting The Stunning), and Calum Agnew and Oscar Blue (supporting The Coronas).
Providing a launchpad for local talent to reach national audiences, Momentum’s Commercial Director Olivia Breene underlines the festival’s commitment to supporting the county’s thriving music scene.
She says: “A huge part of the impetus behind Momentum is the drive that co-founders Cian Burke and Trevor Cullinane have to support both local and up-and-coming artists. As a festival, we’re committed to championing rising talent across Ireland, with a strong focus on elevating our local Galway scene and giving artists a platform to grow beyond it – which is why we’re so delighted to welcome Galway bands Talllon and Groev to The Crescendo Tent, as well as Oscar Blue, Calum Agnew, Tracey Bruen and The Riptide Movement – all of whom are just incredible opening acts for us to have during our first year. It’s so important to us that Momentum helps create opportunities for artists at the start of their careers and continues to support them as they grow.”
The addition of the final support acts finalises the line-up for Momentum Festival 2026, which can be found HERE.
The support acts for Momentum 2026 are:
Talllon

Galway four-piece band Talllon are set to deliver their loud, calculated collision of melodic alternative rock, post-grunge, and hard rock on Monday, May 4th, which will see their anthemic choruses and powerful guitar riffs brought to new heights.
Groev

Groev (pronounced Grove) are a Galway-based indie folk/pop five-piece formed in 2024 from late-night sessions and pints, leaning fully into what they call being a ‘drinking band with a music problem.’ Drawing on the rich traditions of Irish traditional music, Groev have carved out a sound that sits comfortably in the indie-folk world, amassing over 35,000 streams despite having only released four singles. Each track represents a distinct slice of life in their twenties, shaped by the kind of lived-in honesty that their influences – Amble, Kingfisher, Sam Fender and Paulo Nutini – have always done so well. Live is where Groev really comes alive: From legendary dance moves to sinking pints mid-set, there’s a warmth and nostalgia to their shows that, even when you hear them for the first time, you can’t help but feel like you’ve known them for years.
Tracy Bruen

Galway singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and spellbinding vocalist Tracy Bruen blends and bends folk, prog and pop with classical and theatrical influences to create epic compositions of power and vulnerability which lie between the folk stylings of Joni Mitchell and the art pop of Kate Bush.
Calum Agnew

Rising soul-pop frontman and Hotpress’ New Local Hero 2025 winner Calum Agnew is carving out a chic-sleaze space in Ireland’s music scene. With a seductive vocal tone and a knack for weaving intricately catchy pop melodies through soulful, jazz-leaning arrangements, Calum lands somewhere between Amy Winehouse, Joy Crookes, and RAYE but with a vision and direction unmistakably his own, and unlike anything else in Ireland right now. Composing and directing a full 7-piece band in his signature thrifted pinstripe suit, Calum brings an unapologetic mod-meets-modern energy to both his music and his live shows. There’s a mischievous charm to it all; theatrical, a bit glam, but rooted in raw, soulful vulnerability. With 1,000+ radio plays and over 6 million impacts across two singles, Calum has built huge momentum ahead of his debut EP Bad Boy, out now.
Oscar Blue

Oscar Blue is a rising Irish singer-songwriter known for live performances that blend heartfelt intimacy with soaring energy. His shows move effortlessly between pindrop stillness and full-band euphoria, leaving audiences both uplifted and undone. Based between London and rural Ireland, Oscar has built a strong live following across the UK and Europe, touring with and supporting artists such as Darren Kiely, Kingfishr, Seafret, Sons of the East and more. His debut album Birds in Winter is set to be released later this month and marks the most exciting year of the artists’ career yet, as he continues to prove himself as one of the most authentic and captivating voices emerging on the live scene.
Riptide Movement

The Riptide Movement are a Gold selling, Choice nominated, Number 1 rock band from Dublin, Ireland. With five studio albums to their name, including their number 1 album Getting Through and hit songs, ‘All Works Out’, ‘You & I’, ‘Elephant in the Room’, ‘Changeling’, and ‘Something Special’, the Riptide Movement are renowned for their electrifying live shows, having played all around the world, from the main stage at Electric Picnic to Glastonbury and Benicassim; they’ve also shared the stage with artists such as The Rolling Stones and Neil Young and have collaborated with renowned orchestras such as the BBC Orchestra and the RTÉ Concert Orchestra.
Momentum will bring a nightly audience of 4,200 people to the picturesque village of Oranmore across four nights from Friday 1 to Monday 4 May 2026, setting the tone for a weekend where live music, community and place come together to create moments that matter.
The weekend will see performances from Irish rock icons, The Stunning; chart-topping purveyors of anthemic tunes, The Coronas; a sing-along like no other as The Big Day Out comes to the west for the first time, bringing 90s and 00s nostalgia from Sonique, B*witched, D:Ream, Rednex and Mark McCabe; and The Scratch, Cliffords and Madra Salach who will close out the bank holiday weekend.
All performances will take place under The Crescendo Tent, a tented live music space with a nightly capacity of 4,200. Designed to elevate the live experience while keeping audiences close to the moment, the venue forms the beating heart of Momentum’s first chapter.
