The Chris Rea Experience is earning standing ovations everywhere they go. The show sees Chris Rea’s longtime friend and collaborator present an unforgettable, specially curated concert, as Paul Casey brings the greatest hits to the stage in Rea’s unmistakable style. A seminal figure in modern music, the late Chris Rea remains in a league of his own. This critically acclaimed production sees his music approached with precision and respect, offering fans the chance to hear the hits and get a rare insight into life on the road and in studio with a rock icon.

In 2024, in what would be one of his final interviews before his sudden passing last year, Rea spoke highly of his protégé’s guitar-playing in a rare conversation with Hot Press magazine: “His first demos were absolutely amazing. It was an eerie feeling for me because it was as if I’d played it. It was so accurate.” On Paul’s vocals, he said, “He’s got a really nice tone, a soft, Irish tone. There’s something very Irish in what he does. But there’s something very Irish in what I do as well. He’s like a younger brother. He’s now been my inspiration to get some songs done. Paul’s a good friend. I think it’s wonderful what’s happened to him”

Reflecting on his lifelong admiration for Chris Rea, Casey, who will take to the 3Olympia Theatre stage – a stage the two last shared 16 years ago – recalls: “In 1990, my parents bought me a ticket to see Chris’ Road To Hell tour in Belfast. I was just 15 and travelled up on the bus from Derry, it absolutely blew my mind! From that night on, all I ever wanted to be was a slide guitarist. I had no idea that 16 and 20 years later I’d be standing on the OIympia stage in Dublin with Chris.” He continues: “It’s a massive honour to now perform the music that inspired me to become a musician. I learned to sing by listening to Chris’ albums. Shamrock Diaries is my bible. If it wasn’t for his music, I‘d never have picked up a guitar. So, playing this 3Olympia show feels very special, it feels like it’s all coming full circle.”The Chris Rea Experience band is a who’s who of Europe’s finest players, and includes Paul Casey and Eoghan O’Neill, both former members of Chris Rea’s band. The band also comprises Liam Bradley (Moving Hearts, Van Morrison, The Blue Nile), John McCullough (Van Morrison, Sinéad O’Connor, The Waterboys) and exceptional guitarist newcomer Dan Millar. Their world-class calibre is heard with every note as they honour Rea’s legacy with a deep respect for his singular sound
