Wet Leg hit Dublin’s 3Olympia last night like a lightning storm — and, for once, that’s not just a lazy metaphor. From the second they slammed into opener “Catch These Fists”, the stage detonated in a barrage of white strobes that washed over the venue’s ornate balconies, bleaching the room into a surreal, futuristic fishbowl.
When my vision finally returned after the strobe-heavy opener, the sheer density of the room snapped into focus. Every inch of the 3Olympia was wedged with bodies — a sweating, shoulder-to-shoulder mass that made even breathing room feel like a luxury. A couple of diehards at the barrier told me they’d been queuing since early afternoon just to secure their spot, a level of devotion this venue hasn’t witnessed in ages. It felt less like a gig and more like a pilgrimage; the place wasn’t just buzzing, it was absolutely hopping.
Rhian Teasdale prowled the stage like a puma, all coiled energy and sly charisma, firing off a vocal performance that crackled with bite and mischievous intent. And while the set leaned heavily on their latest album Moisturizer — with “CPR,” “Liquidize,” “Pillow Talk” and “Davina McCall” landing as pure, manic-friendly crowd pleasers — nothing quite matches the communal jolt that tears through the room when those unmistakable opening strums of “Chaise Longue” ring out. In a flash, the energy spikes, the floor heaves, and Wet Leg remind the entire 3Olympia exactly who they are — not that anyone needed the reminder.
Verdict
Closing with “Mangetout,” one of the standouts from Moisturizer and a personal favourite, Wet Leg ended the night in full-throttle chaos. It’s a track that snarls live, and they tore through it with the kind of feral confidence that makes a room erupt. There’s little doubt they delivered one of the most electric performances I’ve seen all year — fantastic from start to finish.

WOW. What can you even say about these guys? From the moment they hit the stage, their energy was untamable — chaotic in the best possible way. Stage presence? Check. Charisma? Off the charts. Vocals? Impeccable. Dance routines? Absolutely bonkers. By the time they launched into their final number, the band had left the stage entirely, performing acrobatic moves and belting out their vocals among the audience, turning the crowd into an extension of the show itself.
Their setlist was packed with absolute crackers: “Love On The Ground,” “Scratch,” “Full Circle” and “Walking Away From My Demons” all landed with maximum impact. Watching them live, you couldn’t help but get swept up — sheer joy, adrenaline, and a little bit of madness all rolled into one unforgettable set.
