The Journey so Far

Few experiences rival the exhilaration of encountering a band in their element performing live, that utterly enthralls you. Such was the sensation I encountered after witnessing InBetween Honey at Feile Beag 2024. They didn’t merely command the stage; they wove an intricate dance with the audience, their sheer authenticity and distinctive flair a marvel to witness.

Today, we take the opportunity to delve deeper into the essence of this young, up-and-coming group that’s been making more than a few waves with their unique sound and undeniable talent, as we learn a little bit more about what makes InBetween Honey tick.

How did the band come together?

“As School friends who loved the same bands a connection was formed and from there we started our own band”.

What’s the story behind the band name?

“Our singer Dylan loves the band ‘ Bleachers, One day he found himself listening to “ Good morning” by them and the opening lyrics to the song is “ Woke up i’m in the Inbetween honey “ he thought it would be a great name for the band we all agreed and here we are”.

Which artists have influenced your music the most?

“For sure we have influences from the Manchester scene as in Oasis, Stone Roses and so on as Matty & JohnPaul’s favourite band growing up and still is Oasis, we also love listening to Blossoms, Pixies, Bell X1, Arcade Fire and of course The Killers the list is endless”.

How would best describe your style of music?

“90’s guitar driven music with sprinkles of 80’s synth”

How do you approach songwriting?

“We approach songwriting in many ways really, if it’s during rehearsals and a guitar progression sounds good to us, Dylan & JohnPaul write about their lives and stories then put pen to paper and build the song around the lyrics, it is diverse for sure”.

What’s been the biggest highlight of your career so far?

2Our biggest highlight so far is playing our first show in the U.K in the iconic Dublin Castle Camden, London this year, the feeling was surreal to all of us and then we knew this year is our year to push ourselves and trust the process”.

How have you evolved since your first performance?

“Looking back now from our school days when the band was first started our knowledge has grown musically and technically, we all have progressed so much in our craft we are now starting to take shape”.

What challenges have you faced as a new band?

“We have faced a lot of challenges as a new band, the major one being not being given a chance to showcase our music on a bigger scale, but we believe in ourselves, and our chance is coming very soon”.

What are you currently working on?

“We are currently focusing on recording new music right now while building our fanbase and social media for a busy year next year”.

Do you have any upcoming tours?

“We have news to announce very soon about this and are excited to announce what we have in store”.
